Fun and entertaining places to eat like Benihana's status that's semi fancy and near the Orpheum in SF, CA?

Hey!

So I'm going with my Sister, Dad his Girl friend and the Girlfriend's kids. We're 20 and up. We want to have a good time before going to see a play but last time that we went out we went to this ridiculous restaurant that was very ritzy and stagnant! Anyone know any fun yet classy places (enough so we can wear nice dresses and not look out of place)? Maybe some music or where the chef puts on a show(Benihanas)?

Please save me!|||Hayes Valley is a good place for dinner, though it would be insulting to compare Benihana to any of these restaurants.

Hays Street Grill 320 Hayes at Gough. Fresh fish shines at this neighborhood favorite. They specialize in grilling fish and then serving it with your choice of sauces that only enhance the taste of the fish and shellfish.

Ever wonder what having a drink at the base of stemware glass would be like? Visit Jardiniere, one of the best restaurants in SF. Cool jazz, good food, sit at the bar for the full experience.

Absinthe on Hayes at Gough. A French inspired bistro.

A little further away is Zuni - Market at Octavia A SF tradition, great wood stove roasted chicken, The City's best Caesar Salad and other really good food in a series of rooms that are fabulous for people watching.

Or if you want something really entertaining check out Asia SF at 9th and Harrison. Asian small plates and a show by incrediblely beautiful gender illusionists.|||Benihana's is classy? There are many excellent restaurants to choose from in San Francisco for good eats depending on what your tastes are. Restaurant Ponzu is walking distance and offers what they call Asian tapas. Great food and great drinks. Find out more about them by following the links from the SHN website listed below. SHN is the owner of the Orpheum and presenter of Wicked (excellent musical, by the way; we saw it before it went to Broaday and again this season).

Other nearby restaurants worth considering are Citizen Cake, Espetus Churrascaria (cab ride away), and Suppenk眉che (German bar food; not dressy but fun!).|||There is the Opera Cafe, if it is still open.|||going to see wicked?
