Is my resume too wordy? Where should I make revisions?
Sadly, most employers only look at the first page of a resume! This looks pretty concise but you should try and make it a little shorter. You can always talk yourself up later, and add contacts and more jobs you had.Is my resume too wordy? Where should I make revisions?
As long as it stays on one page, you are okIs my resume too wordy? Where should I make revisions?
Yes it is too wordy. Combine some of your sentences and keep all the verb tense the same - past. For example in JC Penny

answered catalog calls, evaluated customer credit records, approve new credit while maintaining customer information security.

Drop a few of the adjectives. Read it as if your are a stranger reading it for the first time. Could they figure out what you did at each job?

Is there a credit card that enforces its no-identification requirement, unlike MasterCard?

I have a MasterCard credit card, and I often get asked for identification to use the card. This is a flagrant violation of MasterCard's merchant policy that forbids merchants from requiring identification to accept a MasterCard.

I find this to be a huge inconvenience. Why do stores have self-swipe credit card readers if you have to hand them your card and identification anyway? They often even wait until after I've put my card and wallet away before asking to see the card and identification. I've started using cash for most in-person transactions to avoid this problem.

I'm also tired of hearing stores claim this is for my protection. That's complete bunk. I'm not liable for a penny of credit card fraud. Stores are inconveniencing their customers to save at most a few pennies per sale in fraud losses.

I've used MasterCard's online complaint page to report these violations many times without any relief. Is there a credit card company I could switch to that actually enforces a no-identification rule? I would love to start using a credit card again instead of cash.Is there a credit card that enforces its no-identification requirement, unlike MasterCard?
Who actually pays for fraud? The end user - either directly or indirectly. You are responsible up until notification - so your card gets lost, someone uses it and then you report it - you pay. Other losses - you pay in a round about way - through fees, higher shop charges etc. These costs are passed on to us by the companies involved.

If there was such a card, criminals would target users and steal them because it would be easier for them to rip us off.

Do you get the smell of witch hunt, new Spanish inquisitions and Conquistadores?

Today, from no where we were told about the so called Muslim Terrorism in Australia. We are sick and tired of these types of false and fabricated stories. Specifically, no one knows about the details of the story. Yet, Islam and Muslims bashing is up and running. Why? Because Islam and Muslim bashing is the most spectacular sport in the town! We went through these types of tragedies and deliberate ploy to murder truth and free speech. In the long run “they” had eggs on their face. We know these peoples! They thrive on lies, deceptions, deceits and destruction. Shakespeare knew them. Charles Dickens knew them!

I can see new kind of witch hunt, Spanish inquisitions and Conquistadores in the horizon. However, I am confident it will backfire on them like poor old and misguided Crusaders!

Many hate merchants including the American Hate Merchant Denial Pipes were using the paragraph below and many other laughable and imaginary materials to incite violence against the Arabs and Muslims! This accusation of today is puzzling me. I hope it is not another Dr. Mohamad Haneef episode.

What do you think about the Muslim’s role in Australian Bush fire?

CBS News report quoted celebratory messages posted on Internet forums supportive of al Qaeda:4

In a message entitled “Al Qaeda behind Australia’s bushfires”, a member of one forum who uses the name “Osama1” talked about the terrible devastation and loss of lives caused by the fires, which he hoped were the work of al Qaeda. “Imagine if all this was the work of an al Qaeda raid against Australia who is taking part in the wars on Iraq and Afghanistan … how awesome would that be?” He also urged Islamist militants around the world to “fight the enemy” through this new form of jihad.

Source: http://www.nationalobserver.net/pdf/2009…Do you get the smell of witch hunt, new Spanish inquisitions and Conquistadores?
Al-Qaeda are a group of murderers, cutthroats and monsters who take the faith of Islam and give it a bad name. People don't realize or don't care to realize they want to kill all of us who refuse to be forced to kneel down before Allah. It has nothing to really do with Afghanistan, Iraq, the West Bank, Saudi Arabia, or any other reason they give for killing. If none of those situations were around, they'd look for a reason to kill.

I don't want violence either, but unfortunately freedom is not free. I'm all for doing whatever it takes to stop them. I know that if I was in charge, my response would be much stronger than the cowards running the show now.
In Australia do they have a trial by media or fair trial by judge and jury?

Do they have rules of evidence and presumption of innocence?

Or are the Muslims guilty before even being charged?Do you get the smell of witch hunt, new Spanish inquisitions and Conquistadores?
Take it easy. We will find out the people behind this episode. Australians are fairly good bunch you know.
So, are other Muslims joining in the criticism of Al Qaeda? Or are they sitting on the sidelines watching their brothers wage war on the West. Also, who else has suicide bombers? No one. That's who. By and large I think most Muslims are peaceful people who just want to get along, but far too few of them criticize the radicals.Do you get the smell of witch hunt, new Spanish inquisitions and Conquistadores?
    I think the issue are:

    1. A misguided Australian academic used totally false and fabricated materials to incite against Muslims.

    2. A dangerous person like Daniel Pipes have been promoting that ill motivated Australian academic's useless article like as the Gospel truth.

    3. No one died inside Australia for terrorism. However, more than 200 people died due to bush fire! Most of those bush fire was due to arsonist’s mindless act.

    4. None of those arsonists (convicted or accused) are not from Muslim or Arab background.

Rome Was a very good land army, They trained all day all night. Rome was not very good at sea battles but Rome trained on land how to row the boat and they practiced for weeks until the war came. They had used a technique that made the fight a lot easier they used a plank to cross their ship into cartages ship so they could have a fight on their ship and basically made it a land fight. About carthage Carthage was a city-state on the Greek model that had been founded by Phoenicians from Tyre in the 8th century. It was the strongest city in the Western Mediterranean by the 3rd century and its wealth rested on trade. Carthaginian merchants went from one end of the Mediterranean to the other, the citys fleets were huge and its army was one of the best in the ancient world.

It was Carthage that pried loose the Greek hold on the western ports, and Carthaginian merchants traded as far north as England for Cornish tin and down the West African coast for gold and ivory. Like Rome, Carthage learned how to make use of the manpower of its conquered peoples, incorporating them into the Carthaginian army as auxiliaries. Unlike Rome, but like the Greeks, the Carthaginians also made extensive use of mercenaries. By the early 200 Carthage had expanded not only across North Africa but had control of the Belearic Islands, Sardinia, Corsica, and much of Sicily. She took the goods from these regions, and her own fertile hinterland, and shipped them to eastern ports. Once Rome had conquered most of Italy, it was only a matter of time before these two ambitious and powerful empires came face to face with one another. But both sides drifted unintentionally into hostilities, with drastic consequences for both.

Rome was not a naval power and had little or no experience in war at sea. Before the first Punic war the Roman Republic had not campaigned outside the Italian Peninsula. The Republic's military strength was on land and her greatest assets were the discipline and courage of her soldiers. The boarding-bridge allowed her to use her marines against the superior Carthaginian naval skills. The Romans application of boarding tactics worked; they won several battles, most notably tho tyndaris and ecnomus

Despite its advantages, the boarding bridge had serious drawbacks: it could not be used in rough seas since the stable connection of two working ships endangered each others structure. Operating in rough seas, the device became useless and was abandoned. According to Bone breaker Professor of Naval Architecture at Delft with the estimated weight of one ton for the boarding bridge it is most improbable that the stability of a with a is placement of about 250m would be seriously upset

Some other historians believe that its weight on the prow compromised the ship's navigability and the Romans lost almost two entire fleets to storms in 255 and in 249 largely due to the instability caused by the device. These losses were probably the main reason for the abandonment of the boarding ridge in ship design by the end of the war. As Roman improved and the Roman crews became more experienced the boarding-bridge was no longer used in battle. It is not mentioned in period sources after the battle of Ecnomus and apparently the that decided the first Punic war was won without

They did not choose to make this ship they had to because in the war they had to have a Sea fight, They had tactics that made them Have a land battle basically and they made a custom plank that dropped down on the enemies ship and they all rushed in and killed them. They constructed this ship with wood, they did not use it until they learned how to row the boat and use itI need help making this "BAd?'?

Feed on someone. That way no one will notice your vampirism. Then buy the stuff. (and make sure they're empty)

P.S. When you have to get bloodgrass there's a bug that'll cause her not to recognize any bloodgrass. Go to ex-Oblivion gates though and you can find some.

P.S.S. Or you could buy the Vile-Lair plug-in via XB Live and use the new content as an easy way to get rid of your vampirism. Note, however, that once you're cured you can NOT become a vampire again. (that also applies with that Vampire Cure quest)Elder Scrolls OBLIVION(xbox360) Vampire HELP!?

    Carthaginian engineers

The Carthaginian well they go way, way beck to the ninth century B.C. The colonists from Tyre, led by Princess Dido, which they founded the ancient Phoenician port of Carthage in North Africa. The city developed an extensive commercial network throughout the Mediterranean, after the capture of Tyre by the Babylonians in the sixth century BC, Carthage assumed leadership of Phoenician colonies in North Africa and Spain. Carthaginian engineers harnessed their extensive resources and manpower to develop some of the ancient world's most groundbreaking technology, and it wasn鈥檛 easy because they really had to work hard for all the beautiful stuff they did.

The city was the first in the whole in tired world to have indoor plumbing whitch was pretty amazing because they were the first people to have it, it supplied a constant stream of water to the first ever high-rise apartment towers. Carthage was protected by an enormous Harbour that held hundreds of war sin 145 BC, Rome emerged victorious. Around 45 B.C Roman colonists settled in Carthage, and it became the wealthy center of the province of Africa hips. To protect the capital, an intricate series of fortifications were erected that stretched for more than 23 miles, and housed a standing army of more than 20,000 men.

Hannibal was born in 247 B.C, when Carthage, then the greatest maritime power, was beginning to decline. The Carthaginians were the descendants of the Phoenicians, a ******* people, who were great merchants. They traded with India, the peoples of the Mediterranean, and the Scilly Isles. They founded Carthage as a central base for this commerce, the Phoenicians, like most commercial peoples, were not warriors. Their immense wealth and their luxurious manner of living had rendered them still softer. It was inevitable that they should inspire plunder in the heart of their powerful neighbor, Rome, which was less than a hundred miles across the Mediterranean. Rome, then in the prime of her youth, had concentrated on military power.Carthaginian engineers...research paper?

  • How should I choose my mechanic for this issue?

I'm young and don't really know any mechanics.

I have two U joint's that need to be replaced. At least I'm sure that's what the issue is.

But how can I trust the mechanic to say there isn't more wrong when there really isn't?

I went to Merchant's, and they offered to look at the issue (U-joints) for 20 bucks. The one guy said though that there could be more wrong, like with the seals of the joints, etc. He said hard to tell without looking at it.

Merchant's said probably around 200+ maybe to fix it. From what I remember. I can't remember if they said 200 or 250 though. It was like 50 for the parts and 150 for labor I think.

Then there is another place that has a lifetime guarantee on their work. It's a collision center.

They said 36 to look at it. But about 190 to replace two U joints, but I don't know if that includes the parts.

Ah, What should I do? I've read some tough reviews on merchants, but I take it there all the time for oil changes because they have promos. And, got good the tires there when they had a sale. But I'm not sure about mechanical work. How should I choose my mechanic for this issue?
Are those prices for gold plated ones? Find another shop! At that labor price they better be balancing it too. I would also replace the trans. tailshaft seal if it's an auto trans. At the next shop just tell them you want to know how much to replace both U-joints and seal (if is leaking). Don't waste your money on them diagnosing them. How should I choose my mechanic for this issue?
go some where that is busy because the people there are happy and come back as where if not busy ask yourself why a shop that is busy do not need the extra work to inflate your bill the busier they are the better however may take a while for an appointment be aware of some place that can fix today and say ok drive it in now they are looking for work

%26lt;%26lt;The corrupt officials of a small Russian town, headed by the Mayor, react with terror to the news that an incognito inspector (the revizor) will soon be arriving in their town to investigate them. The flurry of activity to cover up their considerable misdeeds is interrupted by the report that a suspicious person has arrived two weeks previously from Saint Petersburg and is staying at the inn. That person, however, is not an inspector; it is Khlestakov, a foppish civil servant with a wild imagination.

Having learned that Khlestakov has been charging his considerable hotel bill to the Crown, the Mayor and his crooked cronies are immediately certain that this upper class twit is the dreaded inspector. For quite some time, however, Khlestakov does not even realize that he has been mistaken for someone else. Meanwhile, he enjoys the officials' terrified deference and moves in as a guest in the Police Chief's house. He also demands and receives massive "loans" from the Mayor and all of his associates. He also flirts outrageously with the Mayor's wife and daughter.

Sick and tired of the Mayor's outrageous demands for bribes, the village's Jewish and Old Believer merchants arrive, begging Khlestakov to have him dismissed from his post. Stunned at the Mayor's rapacious corruption, Khlestakov states that he deserves to be exiled in chains to Siberia. Then, however, he pockets still more "loans" from the merchants, promising to comply with their request.

Terrified that he is now undone, the Mayor pleads with Khlestakov not to have him arrested, only to learn that the latter has become engaged to his daughter. Khlestakov, however, announces that he is returing to St. Petersburg, having been persuaded by his valet that it is too dangerous to continue the charade any longer.

After Khlestakov and his valet depart on a coach driven by the village's fastest horses, the Mayor's friends all arrive to congratulate him. Certain that he now has the upper hand, he summons the merchants, boasting of his daughter's engagement and vowing to squeeze them for every kopeck they are worth. However, the Postmaster suddenly arrives carrying an intercepted letter which reveales Khlestakov's true identity and mocking opinion of them all.

The Mayor, after years of bamboozling Governors and shaking down criminals of every description, is enraged to have been thus humiliated. He screams at his cronies, stating that they, not himself, are to blame. While they continue arguing, a message arrives from the real Government Inspector, who is demanding to see the Mayor immediately.%26gt;%26gt;Does this remind you of any safety-critical computerization software projects you've been working on recently?

Tortious interference, in the common law of tort, occurs when a person intentionally damages the plaintiff's contractual or other business relationships.

This tort is broadly divided into two categories, one specific to contractual relationships (irrespective of whether they involve business), and the other specific to business relationships or activities (irrespective of whether they involve a contract).

Tortious interference with contract rights can occur where the tortfeasor convinces a party to breach the contract against the plaintiff, or where the tortfeasor disrupts the ability of one party to perform his obligations under the contract, thereby preventing the plaintiff from receiving the performance promised.

The hardcore instance of this tort occurs when one party induces another party to breach a contract with a third party, in circumstances where the first party has no privilege to act as it does and acts with knowledge of the existence of the contract.

Such conduct is termed tortious inducement of breach of contract.

Tortious interference with business relationships occurs where the tortfeasor acts to prevent the plaintiff from successfully establishing or maintaining business relationships.

This tort may occur when a first party's conduct intentionally causes a second party not to enter into a business relationship with a third party that otherwise would probably have occurred.

Such conduct is termed tortious interference with prospective business relations, expectations, or advantage or with prospective economic advantage.

    Typical examples

Tortious interference of business.- When false claims and accusations are made against a business or an individual's reputation in order to drive business away.

Tortious interference of contract.- When an individual uses "tort" (a wrongful act) to come in between two parties mutual contract.

    Elements

Although the specific elements required to prove a claim of tortious interference vary from one jurisdiction to another, they typically include the following:

The existence of a contractual relationship or beneficial business relationship between two parties.

Knowledge of that relationship by a third party.

Intent of the third party to induce a party to the relationship to breach the relationship.

Lack of any privilege on the part of the third party to induce such a breach.

Damage to the party against whom the breach occurs.

The first element may, in employment at will jurisdictions, be held fulfilled in regards to a previously unterminated employer/employee relationship.

How long does a merchant have to charge your credit card?

In june of last year, I unfortunately stayed in a terrible motel. I had not made a reservation and just chose it out of weariness, but I left within two hours of checking in. Issues were cleanliness and a horrendous bed. I was told I would not be charged, Ok, now it is 10 months later, and I find a charge for a room from that hotel. The owner/operators have such strong accents that I cannot understand them when I call, but I believe they said they would look into it. I waited a week and called back, but they hung up on me. I will file a dispute with the credit card, but in the meantime, how long does a merchant have to charge your card, and how will I prove that I was told I would not be charged? The young man who waited on me did not offer a different room; he said they were all pretty bad. Then he said I would not be charged. I was so tired and disgusted that I just left and found a decent place. I do not think the clerk gave me any written documentation, and why are they charging me 10 months later? When there was no charge for the first few months, I just believed the matter was over. What do I do? Thanks for any help! How long does a merchant have to charge your credit card?
Legally a merchant has a maximum of 6 months to take a charge from you. Hope the dispute goes okay. I'd probably also try contacting the better business bureau to report the motel. How long does a merchant have to charge your credit card?
I have to say that one great thing about credit cards is the ability to dispute a charge. Usually the customer always prevails unless the merchant can prove their refund policy by written documentation that you've signed or that is clearly posted. You have a great case for getting this charge removed, so just dispute it with your credit card company and they'll do the rest. You'll get a credit within 2 weeks or so.How long does a merchant have to charge your credit card?
Just dispute it with your credit card and tell them what happened. I doubt you will get far with people who do not speak english well.

    Merchant ship jobs, how to?

I'll be in the navy for 10 years when I get out, seems crazy, but I'm just tired of the military stuff.

I did one ship or well submarine for over 5 years and well I love being at sea though.

I know there is a lot of jobs out there on ships as a civilian.

I got my G.I. Bill and my buddy recommended the merchant marine academy, after looking at their site that is not what I'm down for.

I'm married, no kids. Wife knows I like going to sea and supports it.

Doing a lot of searching around I just need someone to bomb me with some suggestions or ideas on college programs for this stuff. I'd like to get into the engineering side if possible.

If ya could throw me a bone, I'll fetch it, appreciate any useful posts.Merchant ship jobs, how to?
Used to be in the A%26amp;M corps down at the galveston merchant marine academy (TAMUG). I'm going to be completely honest with you. DO NOT just get any old job in the merchant marine, it's shitty pay and of course you know you'll never be home. Go to an academy, get a degree, and you'll be trained as a 1st mate or engineer. The cool thing too is you get a degree from TAMU and are also qualified as going through the merchant marine training program, so you'd be even more steps ahead of the rest in terms of being hired with 10 years in the navy. Starting salaries are somewhere between 50-100$K for 6 months I believe, you'll have to look into that. If you just go apply to any old merchant logistics company you'll be making nothing, probably same as what you're making now but with terrible benefits and retirement.

If you have the GI bill it makes no sense not to go to the academy, it's not that hard and makes for a VERY lucrative career if you're smart and get a few good breaks.Merchant ship jobs, how to?
maybe try a large fishing boat, big trawlers need good engineers all the time

wear about do you live, east coast west coast?Merchant ship jobs, how to?
If you're interested in working in the oil patch or on tugboats, the workboat schools are fantastic. I took a simulator class with a bunch of them. MITAGS and Pacific Maritime Institute run a 2 year program that is covered under the GI bill, and includes work experience... it also pays a reasonable wage for the sea time portion of the classes. Your time is split between classes, off time and a job as a trainee on a tug.

I've worked ships, and I've worked tugs. Tugs pay WAY better, starting at 75k for a 2 week on 2 off rotation for near coastal work. The oil field pays well for experienced captains and mates, too.

  • Rumbling / vibration on a Mercedes E280?

Has anyone had this problem and can advise me? Due to a few bad experiences over the years I find dealerships are rip-off merchants and I'd rather contact them as a last resort.

I have a ten year old E280 petrol Merc. Recently I've developed a rumbling throughout the whole body of the car at between 20 to 35 mph. One garage I took it to found nothing mechanically wrong. He told me to go and get my tyres checked and wheels balanced. I did that and nothing has changed.

Any advice would be welcome.Rumbling / vibration on a Mercedes E280?
Rumbling at high speed is usually caused by rims and tires. Low speed rumbling (like in your case) is often associated with driveline sources.

    Things to be checked:

    - engine mounts

    - transmission mounts

    - driveshaft out of balance

    - damaged shaft center bearing

    and possibly others.

Some of the issues can be confirmed/eliminated by jacking the car up with all the wheels cleared from the ground, securing it (!!!) and running the engine with drive position engaged. This simple test will surely eliminate the front axle as the source of vibration, and may be very helpful in tracing down

the source of rumble. The procedure is to be performed by experienced repair facility, so don't try that at home.

If the vibration seems to be going in line with engine RPMs then it's likely that mounts are the problem. If the vibration follows the wheel speed rather than engine speed, then it's the drive shaft.

    hope this helps,Rumbling / vibration on a Mercedes E280?
You'll have to be more specific. Does the rumbling occur constantly or only under certain circumstances, such as braking, acceleration, and/or while turning? If it is constant, do any of the other actions make it worse or better? Does it only occur between those speeds or can it also occur at other speeds, but at certain RPM's?Rumbling / vibration on a Mercedes E280?
Sounds like a worn flex disc.

Mercedes uses flexible rubber couplings on the driveshaft instead of u-joints. When they start to go bad you get a vibration in a narrow range of speeds. When they're totally shot the vibration happens at all speeds.

It's a hard problem to find if you don't know what you're looking for.
Check ur rear diffrential or the drivetrain.

  • How do I sign up for a merchant account on ebay? What is authorize.net?

I am searching for a merchant account to accept payments for items I sell on ebay. I am tired of Paypal, their fees, and their constant limiting of my account. So please don't suggest I use them, that's not an option for me. I know ebay accepts merchant accounts but the whole thing is very confusing to me. Do I need a merchant account plus a gateway account such as authorize.net, or will authorize.net provide everything I need? Does anyone have any other suggestions for merchant accounts? Thank you!How do I sign up for a merchant account on ebay? What is authorize.net?
Finding merchant accounts is easy: just google "merchant account" and you'll find like a gazillion of them.

The biggest thing you'll need for a merchant account is a business bank account. You MIGHT be able to use a personal account, but some of them can be picky about this.

Once you find a merchant account vendor you like, contact them and they will probably email you an application. There are some things they check, but for the most part you shouldn't have much of a problem getting one. I know people who just got out of bankruptcy who were able to get a merchant account pretty quickly.

Your biggest limitation here is IF you want to let your customers use eBay to pay with their credit card. If you do, you'll need to use one of the pre-approved merchant account providers eBay has. Here's the link for that:

    https://arbd.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?S鈥?/a>

If you DON'T want to use these, then you'll have to have some sort of workaround that lets you invoice your customer via the merchant account provider. Just about all of them allow you to enter in CC information via a website; but not all of them have invoicing for customer purchases, so you may find it a hassle trying to get your customers to send you their CC info or call you on the phone with it.

Now here's a bit of bad news. Merchant accounts typically aren't cheap. In fact, unless you are doing a significant sales volume on eBay, the merchant account will actually end up being costlier than using PayPal. So, yes, you get a lot more flexibility and freedom with a merchant account, but it can come at a steeper price.

I've considered getting a merchant account plenty of time, and I used to actually have one. But I found the cost was just too prohibitive. Besides, the vast majority of my sales were paid for with PayPal, even though I was able to accept ALL the major credit cards.

Hope this helps. How do I sign up for a merchant account on ebay? What is authorize.net?
Hi, Authorize.Net is a payment gateway. A merchant account will always have one of the payment gateways e.g. authorize.net, ePN or others. A merchant account charges much less than e-Bay and have a much more quicker payout, usually 48 hours. There are various companies who offer merchant accounts. You can have options of a free payment software or physical terminal. You can even have a live 24 by 7 online payment gateway so customers can pay themselves. All this is possible because its more like a bank account, manually checked. Thus you get better and LIVE customer service :)

You can contact James Lyn at 860-661-0000 or email james@ppseast.com for info and rates. He works with Priority Payment Systems and can help you in it.

...Has anyone out there tried this type? How are they? Do you notice a difference? I'm 22, reasonably fit, but I was thinking of getting some for work/school since they're supposed to help keep your legs from getting tired.

If you've tried them let me know what you think?? Do you wear them often?Anyone use support pantyhose?
i have not tried those . i have tried just regular leggs. i am 28.

they kinda felt like the control top panty hose only all the way down my leg.

i wore them because i stand most of the day at work, during the summer when we did not have wear hose my legs would start to hurt and cramp up. if figgered it was because i was not wearing hosiery. so i was like if just plain regular hose makes thatmcuh of a dffference what if i tried some that gave a bit more suport so i tried leggs.

now they are not very sheer no matter what they say. they are not opaque but they are not as sheer as regular hose.

now premium support hose will probably work as advertised. i know they have special hose for diabetics that thtey put on them to stimulate circulation. so if you are willing to pay, you should be able to get good results.Anyone use support pantyhose?
why would pantyhose keep your legs from getting tired? if they're made from nylon (most pantyhose are), that sounds highly unlikely. unless you're trying to support some extra weight, they may just be tight and uncomfortable for you since you're already fit.Anyone use support pantyhose?
You are right about support hose keeping your legs from getting tired. I know women who use support hose because they are on their feet all day. They also help prevent varicose veins. As for the brand you have chosen, 140 and 70 denier aren't very sheer but they should last quite some time. Also the price is a bit much but my wife would advise you try different brands until you find one you like. She will also tell you most times the expensive brands are well worth it because they feel much better and last longer.

What tires will work on my 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE? It has (1) 255/50R16 and (3) 215/60R15 kinds of tires.?

The door says this car should have 255/50R16 tires. Right now the car has (3) 215/60R15's and (1) 255/50R16 on the rear drivers side. The car has the original rims which are http://www.hubcaphaven.com/mm5/merchant.鈥?/a>

Is it alright to have the 215/60R15 tires? Should I just replace the odd tire to match the rest?

If I bought two new tires of the recommended 255/50R16 and move two 215/60R15 to the back with this be ok?What tires will work on my 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE? It has (1) 255/50R16 and (3) 215/60R15 kinds of tires.?
All the wheels need to be either 15" or 16" with the corresponding matching tires. The Grand Am came with the 15" size and the 16" wheels were an option and standard on the GT. Obviously somebody mixed in one of the 16" wheels with your 15's. You bought two 15" and two 16" but do not have two 16" wheels, only one. How is that gonna work? Not! Buy a 15" wheel and 4 15" tires. What tires will work on my 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE? It has (1) 255/50R16 and (3) 215/60R15 kinds of tires.?
it wont be okay because you have 3 15" rims and 1 16" rim

I am merchant, consumer disputes charge?

I own a roadside assistance company. We encounter a few motorist who call for our service ( In this instance a tire change on highway ). What we have started to do is require prepayment since sometimes city highway patrol will arrive before we do and render free service. Therefore leaving my company on a gone on arrival customer. We lose time and money when this happens, which is why we ask for prepayment on highway jobs and jumpstarts. On this paticular instance, city patrol arrived and customer wants refund on her credit card. Told her that we were already in route and she was told of our policy, which she aggreed to pay before we arrived. The customer has the right to not pay untill arrival, so they had full understanding that this could occur ( a good citizend pull over and help or city ).

So my questions is, where is my argument as a merchant to counter her dispute.

Your time is appreciated.I am merchant, consumer disputes charge?
Unfortunately, probably the only thing you can do is sue her small claims court, and it's your word against hers. Remember: "happy customers tell one person, unhappy customers tell 10 people."

What does AAA do if the people aren't there when they get there? Maybe you could have the same policy. Good luck, because running a small business is tough.I am merchant, consumer disputes charge?

  • What are the point of school gangs?

My highschool has a BIG school gang problem. We have 2 main school crews here, one called the “Taliban” and the other called the “Renegades”. The Taliban gang is easily the strongest crew in school. There used to be two other crews called C-Mob and ATM, but they were stomped out by the Taliban. The Renegades are the last resistance left of the Taliban, and even they are getting manhandled by the Taliban. The Renegades have little to no power, while the Taliban is a dominant force. The adult facalty do practically nothing in my school, I go to one of the worse schools ever. We are on the academic watchlist and we have also had 4 principles in the last 5 years. The last principle we had is in jail for assault. Because of this, the kids run wildly in here, and this only adds to the Taliban’s power.

To challenge the Taliban is a no-no, to snitch on the Taliban gang is a no-no. They do all things from beatings to humiliation, one of the worst humiliations they like to do is when they make kids strip naked and also when they give lashes in the shower. One kid got handed 14 lashes in the shower last week for disobeying the law. The supervision in the lockeroom especially is so bad that they do whatever they like. The Taliban has become the law, and regulate many of the student matters and have become almost like their own student government because of the adults have failed so badly to do anything. The Taliban has banned things like stealing, prostitution, selling drugs, and homosexuality. And this week, they just issued Mandate #12 and banned the selling of ANYTHING without tax or without a “merchant permit”. Me and my best friend Kenneth used to sell bootleg movies but we no longer do this anymore because of the Taliban tax and we didnt apply for the merchant permit. And honestly, Im tired of the Taliban, sick of the adults here being a non factor, and sick of school gangs in general. I see no point and its all stupid to me. Why do people start these gangs? What are the point of school gangs?
they wana be all biq nd bad...

    we currently have. . .

    ATM

    GMG

    36

    NWM

and sum other ones tew. . .What are the point of school gangs?
School gangs are just like any other gang, anarchy is their point. What are the point of school gangs?
That's really unfortunate. I'm sorry you have to grow up in this environment.

But it's good that you don't sell bootleg movies anymore. That's not a good thing to do.

Just bide your time. Get out of there when the time comes. And hopefully get into a college where you can start a new life. At the very least, try to move to a better neighborhood if you can't go to college.

It's a very dysfunctional environment that you are in right now. People enjoy being bullies and enjoy the pack mentality. I'm sorry you have to go through that.

Id like another merchant payment option, other then paypal?

Does anyone know some good ones. Im getting tired of no having control of my business, using ebay then using ebays paypal. They always get you with extra fees...

Plus holds and stuff are not fun..

thanks everyoneId like another merchant payment option, other then paypal?
Ever considered talking to your bank about setting up a merchant account? That allows you to accept Visa, M/C, Discovery, etc., without PlayPal gouging you half to death. You'll have to determine if you;re generating enough traffic to justify the costs, and your bank can help you determine what those costs will probably be.Id like another merchant payment option, other then paypal?
Unless you can qualify for a merchant account so that you can take Visa/MC directly, you are going to have to pay fees and put up with holds.

Even IF you get a merchant account of your own, you have to pay fees, and put up with chargebacks, disputes and the like.

    Merchant accounts?

I am a small business and want the best protection for my customers, I have a Mobile tire company and want to know if it is best to get a merchant account from a bank or the cheeper way from those companies that offer the same machine at a fraction of the cost or sometimes free. is there a catch? what should I do?

    Thanks.Merchant accounts?
I would go with a direct processing company because they do the processing for the banks. Which in turn can pass on savings for you. Instead of the banks getting a percentage on your sales also or charging you for equipment ect. Take your time and shop around.

When I did, I found Simple Payment Systems, they give you credit card acceptance software free for your web site. And also give you the credit card terminals for free.I think Simple Payment Systems is truly the absolute best for credit card and electronic check processing. (The electronic check processes the check like a credit card.) So the check is deposited into your account ASAP from your business. If it is bad you know right away. I have done my research for a long time. They give you free equipment, free training, free software- with a check out cart! (if you have a web site also that you want to sell tires on.) They beat discount rate quotes that you give them too. They have 24 hour live help, which is handy. Make sure you tell them you want the free program. Why purchase or lease equipment if you don't have to? We switched from another company over to them. And have never been happier. Go to their web site and call them or fill out the form and they can contact you. I did countless hours of research! Trust me they are the BEST in my opinion.

    Best wishes!Merchant accounts?

Are you tired of listening to people talk on their cell phones in public?

I went to the bank today. A rude 20's something valley girl cut in front of me in line. She was chatting loudly on her cell phone. I told her, "excuse me, but there is a line here." She responded, "well, you were just standing there off to the side..." I said, "well, if you weren't on your cell phone, you might be paying more attention." Then it was a verbal war. The 50's something vs the 20's something. She then proceeded to give her complete credit card number loudly over the cell phone to a merchant she was talking to. I then said in a loud voice..."hey did you hear that...she's giving us all her credit card information!" I told her she was an idiot and finished my banking. Why do people on cell phones think the public cares to listen to their affairs of what they are having for dinner, who's picking up the kids, who sleeping with who, and hello...can you hear me...hello?Are you tired of listening to people talk on their cell phones in public?
I so agree, but what is the alternative?

Until all establishments (banks included) outlaw them.

They did it with smoking! At least we can go to a movie without listening to their nonsensical tunes.

It is only going to worsen.

    Happy New Year you guys...
I am so there with you on this one, I had a similar experience in the post office on what was the busiest mailing day for Christmas. A young woman was in line talking non-stop on her phone, very loudly, and not even in English, she held up the line, pretending not to understand what the clerk was telling her, but the next thing you know she's talking on the phone in what...English! someone behind her, and the clerk asked her to put away the phone and again she tried to act like she didn't understand...I so wanted to snatch that phone right off of her ear, and shout into it.....don't be so damned rude and get a life! Are you tired of listening to people talk on their cell phones in public?
Yes. Its been driving me crazy for a long time. No class whatsoever, and so self important.

Unless its a critical matter, please shut up and get out of my way.

If it is a critical matter, please shut up and get out of my way and please dont crash into my car because youre talking away on your cellphone about something of no importance whatsoever to me.

In public if someone is creeping along in front of me talking about their boring life I just say "EXCUSE ME" and cut in front of the person. I sneer while I do it, too.

    Its pretty effective.
    Thats right !

Its terrible IF they don't pay attention to people and things around them: I've seen drivers totally not paying attention to traffic lights, where the lanes dividing lines are, and speed, and I've heard of pedestrians getting themselves into accidents because of their own cell phone, jay walking etc...

Its dangerous as well as rude !

Oh, and that young valley girl in the bank, and anyone of any description that gives out credit card numbers on a cell phone, or even speaking it loudly anyway, is automatically an idiot. Someone else can catch that credit card number and start shopping.

Oh, and those ones that are just like earbuds? Those make people look so freaky, like they're talking to themselves and having a full conversation with an imaginary friend. Some of my customers use those things, and I don't know when they're on the line or not, if they're talking with me or to the person on their cell phone. It freaks me out !

Take it easy, eh ! Be glad you're smart not to be one of themAre you tired of listening to people talk on their cell phones in public?
Yes, I am! But worse of all are the ones that talk on the cell phone while driving.
Yes - especially when I'm dining in a restaurant.
    yes
This practice is the height of rudeness! There is a very funny web site you may enjoy: theguyfromboston

Go to video rants and scroll to Cell Phones.
AHhhhh..the new world of hi-tech gadgets and its dysfunctional consumers!

I have this problem, every day, with where I work, where I go, and even while I'm driving, seeing hoards of people, yakkin' on their cell phones, while driving, while eating, while shopping, banking, walking down the street, in their homes, BESIDE their landline phone, etc...

Cell phones are a hazard to ANYONE's health and sanity, let me tell you! I'm tired of just seeing these people with these gadgets, literally, welded to their ears!!
Yes! I really don't care or want to listen to their personal affairs. It's SO rude!
This girl was very disrespectful; I can imagine how she treats her parents.

Talking on phone in public is rude; I feel that nobody wants to hear my chatter. I have a friend (50 something!) who will call me, then almost immediately tell me to "hold on". She would either be paying for something, or ordering something. I did not like it, besides it is rude to the person you are doing business with. After a few months of this I finally told her to call me when she has time to talk. Also, I saw a verbal altercation between an older man and a young woman. In the grocery store, this woman answered her phone while standing in the middle of the aisle. She stood there blocking the aisle, then got mad when the man told her to get out of his way!

Personally, I almost never talk on my phone in public. If I happen to answer it, I promptly say I will call them back.

I have noticed that less and less people are talking in public. There was a time when I would talk anywhere; I think most of us realize it is inconsiderate. By the way, love the way you handled the situation. I would have done the same thing, but just on principle, This 40 something would have stepped in front of her in the line. Call me crazy!
People on cell phones should reaalyy see themselves for the dipshiits they truly are.

When you hear some of the conversations you would have to agree the cell phones give brain cancer, because of the convos some of these people have on them.

I was in a bar once and this wanna be total loser was on the phone" yep i said sell. do i what i said , I have thousands riding on this deal etc etc and then it rang while he was having this "business call".

    People should see themselves..

The biggest losers are the ones who use cell phones and drive at the same time... i only hope the accident they are going to have only hurts them and theirs and not other people.
i used to work in the mall and i cant tell you how many time i watched a group of girls all walking together, but all also talking on the cell phones! the other thing is on a cell phone. people just naturally talk LOUDER! why is that? i dont think i talk louder then normal on my regular phone in the house?
What she did to you was rude, talking on the cell phone was not.
Yeah well not really. It is annoying like that valley girl sounds like a dumb@ss.But usually if I'm talking on a cell I keep my voice down and don't walk in lines like a douche.
Not only am I sick of that but am sick of idiots driving with their cell phones holding up traffic and is one of the major causes of accidents
    It's VERY annoying!!!!!!!!

    I hate it.

Are they showing off they have a cellphone?

I don't want or need to hear about their private lives.
Yes it is boring and theyre full of themselves...such things are pvt conversations that noone cares to hear in a bank...im with you!!
I LOVE you Shirley! I hate when people are talking on their cell phones like they're trying to solve AIDS or cancer. I think it's rude and obnoxious. I agree completely!
yeah especially when they drive. ive lost count of how many times a woman in an SUV talking on the phone has almost killed me. its like they were born with cellphones connected to their skull. and they talk loud and laugh and when they eat food flies out of their mouth. they are oblivious about everything around them. i bet they masturbate while talking on the phone. o well they will die of a brain tumor so its all on them.
I particularly hate people who use their cell phones in restaurants...as well as those who leave their ringers on and then come to see the movie I spent my good money on seeing...
I can relate to how you feel. I don't like it when people are loud, and it doesn't matter if they're on the phone. I do appreciate it when cell phone users keep their voices low and their talk short. I've met a few such people, and I really admire them for thier good manners. If I were in your shoes, I would've got into a verbal fight with that woman too. Too bad some people just don't seem to remember or care what good manners are any more. But then maybe they can remind us that we should pay more attention to our own manners, right? Hope you're not as upset now. :D
    don't even get me started!

I had similar situations, there is this idiot at work that doesn't know the meaning of ETIQUETTE, the guy has no manners

and is SO rude because he's on the phone 24/7 in public, in restaurants, while driving with a carpool, and the sad part is

everybody has to listen his LAME and STUPID conversations, just makes feel repulsive, everybody at work is so sick of him.
Wow, I am with you 50!!!! I am sick of these little chatterboxes (of all ages) that can;t even use the ladies room w/o yapping away loudly about things I DON'T WANT TO HEAR....

My favorite ever bad cell phone story was while waiting in line for a frozen yougurt (was visiting in NYC but could have been anywhere), The guy in front of me was actually breaking up with his girlfriend....no kidding,,,,loudly telling her her naggging and this is and that is just getting to be too much for him, then the guy behind the counter asks him what he wanted, he told her to hold on a second, placed his order, and continued the break up!!!!!!!! There had to be 20 people in ear shot....I dunno, maybe it's just me but I think she was lucky to lose him\!!!!!LOL

People, leave em off when you are in public, we don't want to listen to the details of your yeast infections, BMW's, latest investments whatever......SHUT IT OFF AND SHUT UP.....

GRRRRRRRRRRRR....am so with you on this one..!!!!
yes...and also incoming calls while on the phone with the person and they say hold I got another call...
dont you talk on your cell phone?

we all do. some people are more open about talking their lives in public than others. you're more sensitive on talking personal affairs whereas the valley girl isnt. we have to tolerate people sometimes. we can't always have what we want in life. if we did, it'd be boring. we need a little shift now and then.

How mini people are sick and tired of listening to Jim lampley and larry merchant put down boxers .?

Dude, i can't stand neither one of those guys! Time for some new blood at hbo as far as i'm concerned. They should steal Teddy Atlas from espn. How mini people are sick and tired of listening to Jim lampley and larry merchant put down boxers .?
I can tolerate Jim Lampley. Larry Merchant, on the other hand, is the most irritating idiot I've ever had to endure just to watch a fight. I've e-mailed HBO more times than I can count about his idiotic, inane bullcrap. The only way I can make it through a fight on HBO is by muting the volume and just watching in silence. I wish someone would stuff a sock in his mouth.
I liked them tonight during the Taylor/Spinks fight. Lampley correctly called for the head of judge Dick Flaherty for scoring the fight 117 to 111 for Spinks. Merchant called for boxing to go back to the smaller gloves and rings and to reward aggressive fighters. Boxing has NEEDED these things for a long time. Maybe if we get these changes, Mayweather may have to stand and fight somebody! How mini people are sick and tired of listening to Jim lampley and larry merchant put down boxers .?
I'd rather hear that then get lied to. Fights like Taylor/Spinks are a waste of everybody's time. The sad part is that the fighters themselves are so cocky about their performances. Spinks actually thought he defeated the champion (Taylor) by landing less than a hundred punches in twelve rounds. What a joke! Taylor seemed very happy with the win and made it clear that the only thing he is concerned about is money in regards to matchmaking. We as fans should not accept this. I have been excited in the past to watch some of these fighters, but I'm just about done letting them fool me.
merchant's unbelieveable five minute questions that lead to a yes or no answer and his deer lost in the headlights look are enough to make any boxing fan puke...I will be glad for the day when they can him and Lampley both... who died and made these clowns 'expert' commentators...I like when Steward contradicts those clowns with real facts from a fighter/trainers point of view... and for the above poster who agreed with ol garbage merchant's point of view...look it up...its called boxing, the premise is to hit and not get hit, not to stand in and slug if you dont have to... if you cant appreciate the 'science' in the 'sweet science' then go watch mma or something... all of you that think floyd should have stood in are retarded...he is a skilled boxer, not some mindless rocky styled slugger...How mini people are sick and tired of listening to Jim lampley and larry merchant put down boxers .?
i find them a bit humorous at times ,you know they have been at this for many years ,but listening to them you wonder if their calling their first fight .they occassionally make a good point,i would think hbo would have them hype up the fights instead of having larry merchant say he would rather be at some polical debate than watch it. i would gladly take his spot even for the boring fights.they could use some new blood calling the fights, definetly.
Those guys piss me off like they could do any better than the boxers they put down. Teddy Atlas is awesome.
The thing that I hate about Lampley is that he is a biased commentator he sounded like a goddamn cheerleader for Taylor when he fought Hopkins...and Merchant believes that people tune in to hear him talk and not to watch the fights...Merchant is arrogant in post fight interviews and routinely cuts off fighters mid-sentence its frustrating
I've lost all respect for Lampley. He should be embarrassed for disparaging Dick Flaherty for his scoring of a fight that could have gone either way. As a wife-beater, Lampley is a perfect fit on an HBO team that values bloodbaths over all else. Thanks in large part to HBO, boxing is heading south in the same way that hockey has. It has sold its soul to the devil by catering to the beer-drinking nonfan who only wants to see blood and cares nothing about the art of boxing. That's the real downfall of boxing and how it's losing its real fans.
Ok ok, first of all Larry Merchant sticks up for the people that want to watch fighters who care! I don't think he wants to see blood baths all the time but he wants to see a fighter give a crap about his proffession and take pride in it, not just be there for the payday. He does ramble on at times, but every once in a while he says something really poetic and poiniant. Lampley I can give or take but you have to appreciate his sense of humor, at the Mayweather DLH fight after Mayweather senior rambled on during, possibly the stupidest five minute jargon I have ever heard with absoloutely no oppinion, Lampley says " well that was some really poiniant stuff, thanks Larry" I was dying! Also does Lennox Lewis ever talk about anything but his own Jab and the fact that others need to jab more? "if he was jabbing more he would be winning the fight" "would anyone like some grey poupon with my jab?" I do love Atlas and Stewart. Maybe they should get tyson in there for some excitement, think him and Merchant will get along?
I was so glad to have found this question posted out there after googling "sick of Jim lampley and Larry Merchant". I knew I was only one of millions who felt the same way.

The Taylor-Spinks fight was not good, but the darkest part of the evening, by far, was when Larry Merchant did NOT announce said night as his last one commentating for HBO.

Perhaps it's a generational issue--my father-in-law is the only semi-boxing fan I know who doesn't consider Larry Merchant to be a self-absorbed, washed up, irrelevant, egomaniacal hack. His questions are bloated and pretentious and his rants are akin to the incoherent reflections of a stroke victim (and I can say this b/c my father was a 3-time stroke victim and was still more coherent than Merchant ever has been). If Merchant interrupts Lederman one more time to tell us how he scored 5 rounds even (what judge have you EVER seen scoring in that manner?!?), I'm going to choke myself. There is no shortage of people in this world whom I would gladly call upon to interrupt Jim Lampley. Larry Merchant is not one of them, and that's saying something.

He is saying that the Stock Exchange is a fierce place to be for one who was formally a tea-merchant. A butterfly among bulls and bears will be torn apart or crushed, it's so fragile. For somebody who has sold tea his whole life and then to venture into the Stock Exchange, will be "crushed" or "trampled", figuratively.

What if we had an asian for president?

    So what do you think?

    pros

-the education system would be like a billion times better

    -rice shall be served everyday

-everyone in america will be supplied with a pocket asian

-it would be illegal to be dirty (christ look at singapore)

-we would have the best gamers in the world

-benihana is the national restaurant (awesome)

-our president would go kung fu on every terrorist out there

-chinese new year shall be a national holiday (therefore, everyone gets money)

-finally we can get rid of unreliable american cars

    -the workforce will improve greatly

-microsoft and apple will die, because sony, nintendo, and samsung are taking over

    cons

-the white house will smell like fish everyday

-car accidents will always happen, and this time, not just bellaire

    -asian music is awful

-too many asian fangirls screaming for our president

-i would NOT like to see anime everyday

For Americans, or people who have traveled to America: Favorite restaurant?

I just moved to Canada, and I miss some of my old favorite restaurants so very much! So much, in fact, that I've considered opening up a franchise for one of my favorites when my husband and I can get our life settled enough to get a loan.

I've thought about Steak and Shake, Cracker Barrel, Benihana, and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.... none of which can be found anywhere near Calgary!

What are some of your favorite restaurants? Sit-down places only please, no fast food!|||I'd consider a Cracker Barrel because it is the kind of restaurant you can go to more frequently than Benihana, which I consider to be a special event restaurant. And, the stuff in the store is neat.

Steak and Shake is headquartered here and there are articles in the paper all the time. If it is an article the reader can reply to, they say that the places are dirty, too cold, too expensive. I love Steak and Shake but now have to order a double hamburger where just a year ago I could taste the meat in a single.

Another complaint is that you can't ever get a correct order going through drive through. I didn't realize this was a problem until my husband said he wouldn't go through drive through because it takes so long and the order is never right.

There is some fight going on with the top executives and someone who wants on the board. I'd investigate them carefully before I go with them. Of course, if I'm ever where you are, I would definitely come in for your Steak %26amp; Shake - double with lettuce, tomato, mayo and onion.|||But you've listed chains... all of my favorite restaurants are individual places, privately owned, and have no chain affiliations.

I would have to say Cracker Barrel is one of my favorite restaurants anyway, so I'll go with that. Yummy! Now I'm craving chicken and dumplings with mashed potatoes and hash brown casserole. Boo :(

You could also consider O'Charley's, Olive Garden, and Ruby Tuesdays. Out of these, Olive Garden is my favorite by far!!|||It would be best to research and see the styles of resturants around your area. See which franchise model would have the least compition. Also: go out on a limb and ask people on the streets of your local which style of food appeals to them most!

What would you do? Keep the gifts or contact police?

I am a college professor. I graduated from Stanford, UC Davis, and went on to receive my Phd from UF at the age of 26. I am married to a wonderful man who received his Phd, and we have no children. I am in a sorority and he is in a fraternity. My life was perfect before the incident below took place.

When I came back to work from the break recently, I had a package waiting for me in the office, from an anonymous sender. Inside it contained gift certificates for (from what I've heard) are very expensive restaurants. Restaurants in San Francisco, such as "Aqua", "Jardiniere", "Benihana's", "Farallon", "Gary Danko", "Masa's" "Fleur De Lys", "Postrio's" I've never even heard of most of these restaurants before, let alone eaten at them, but I have a feeling that someone from my past sent them to me out of guilt, and there is no forwarding address, so I can't send it back.

A part of me wants to keep it, but this person that I am assuming it is, slept with my husband 3 years ago, and then turned around and lied about being pregnant with his child. She told me that she had issues because of being molested as a child, had low self esteem and that she lied about the pregnancy to get me to leave my cheating husband, because she thought I deserved better. I was furious with him and we suffered tons of backlash from their actions, but I didn't leave him. She was a girl that I was trying to mentor, and who was in my class as a communications student. Over a year's worth of time, we developed a cool bond and I don't know why she did what she did, but I forgave my husband and told her to get lost and to seek psychological help. After I found out and told her off, she called non-stop for forgiveness on and off for about a year and a half. She finally stopped for a year or so now, Suddenly I get these expensive restaurant gift certificates (no note, no forwarding address) and I mean for like $200.00-$500.00 a piece. Who else would do this and for what? I told her a while back that the least she could do, was to never contact myself or my husband again, but I guess the guilt wont let her. What would you do? Should I keep letting her send this to me or contact the police? I am a college professor and so is my husband and I don't want any negative attention for neither one of us, because of this incident. I just want to move on with my life and forget that this ever happened.|||Whoosh! That's the sound a "perfect life" makes when it departs. A distinct whooshing sound.

I think that you and your "new" mentee should 1) use the gift certificates, 2) and then, get a hotel room, and let that sweet-azz college girl teach an old girl some new trix. You know - student-becomes-teacher. How symbolic for you.

You'll love it and you can go right back to your less-than-perfect life as though nothing ever happened.

Your clueless professor-husband-type person will not even notice, and no DON'T make him go with you to these places as I suspect that he's already suffered more than enough, the poor old thing. Let him doze by the fire while you light one of your own.|||I would just keep accepting what is sent, but then donate them to charity auctions or the like. It's almost a bit like screwing her back, isn't it?|||This is a hard one. I would talk it over with your spouse and see what he thinks. There are different ways to handle this. You could either use them and have a nice dinner "on her", or you could throw them away and not worry about it. Or, call the police and have them find a way to track her down, only if you think they're from her. You don't want to blame the wrong person here. Me, personally, I would see what your husband thinks, and then possibly the police. If the police get involved and are able to contact her and stop this, it might scare her enough to back off.|||First of all, I would have left him. Did she even end up having the baby? This is really out of my league but I can't fathom your story. I would had left him.

Now, unless she's wealthy enough to buy these gift certificates, I don't think it's coming from her. But even if it is, I would keep them. If anything, I'd give it to friends/family who's having a special occasion (birthday or what not).

What would you do? Keep the gifts or contact police?

I just want to move on with my life and forget that this ever happened.|||Whoo!! That's a lot to deal with. And I know it must be eating her up inside to know that she lost a potentially good friend and mentor. You did leave a piece of this story out though. Did she end up having the baby? If so, you've forgiven your husband for that so why wouldn't you forgive her for her wrong doing? Now, I'm not a religious freak or anything but God forgives us for our wrong doings every day. Without second guessing. So, my point is, at least forgive her. If you can do that, at least she will stop harrasing you about this. And after that you can give her the gifts back and tell her that you forgive her and there's nothing more that can be done about what happened. But, that doesn't mean that you have to be this womans friend or even communicate with her or trust her. Forgiveness is easy....Trust isn't.

Good luck with that : )|||I would accept them and use them. You deserve to do something special for yourself after everything you have been through so why not do it at the expense of someone else. Makes alot more sense that way! Hope this helps, best of luck.|||keep the cards, use them but make sure you dont tell your husband that you used them cause then hell tell her and shell think you two are okay|||you can use the cards but first let your husband see it. what if she is not the one? tell your husband about the cards and ask his suggestion and if he has any ideas who it might be. if you get in touch with the girl again, tell her you have forgiven her but that she should stop contacting you as it is best for the two of you.|||You could get in trouble for using them if you know they are from her. It is very unlikely to happen but whats spending a $250 gift certificate compared to loosing your job as a college professor.

I would at least make a report of some kind so it is documented that you received these. Documenting can make a world of a difference in a legal battle.|||It seems like all you want to do is forgive and forget, so to me it seems like you have done all you can do. If she is trying to earn your forgiveness in a way that only disrupts your life further, and you have no way to contact her to tell her how it is affecting you and that all you want her to do is leave you alone, then it is time to contact the police the next time something like this happens and you suspect it was her.|||If I were you I would just accept the gift and take your husband out for a fancy dinner. I do not believe you should call the police although she does not deserve your acceptance she is still just trying to repay you for her terrible mistake|||Can't see any benefit,in going to the police, unless you want to donate

them to the annual policeman's ball..I would surrender them,to a

marriage counselor, who maybe able to let somebody whose on the

cusp,so to speak with their marriage,a chance for a relaxed, unencumbered time out,to assist them..

I would most definitely, suggest to this person NO more please..

The very best of luck, whatever you decide..Stay well %26amp; happy..|||I think you should do both. It will hurt her feelings(if this her is the right person) if you give back the gifts and that is just rude. You should contact the police as well because you need to find out if it was her, and she seriously needs some medical help. If you keep receiving these gifts, it could lead to bad problems. She could run out on money and steal or come to you for money and won't leave you alone. If she steals, it could cause problems with the police, and she can blame what she did on you and you will be asked alot of questions. There is alot of bad things that can happen from this. I do suggest keeping the gifts though because I doubt there's refunds so there's no point of giving them back.|||Since it was sent anonymously I think you should use them because they've been paid for and the restaurants have already made their money from them. I live close to SF so if you don't want the you can send them to me!
