In other words..waht does it mean "what was a butterfly to do among bulls and bears?

it's a sentence of wilde's work:"the model millionaire"

He had gone on the Stock Exchange for six months; but what was a butterfly to do among bulls and bears? He had been a tea-merchant for a little longer, but had soon tired of pekoe and souchong. Then he had tried selling dry sherry. That did not answer;"In other words..waht does it mean "what was a butterfly to do among bulls and bears?
He is saying that the Stock Exchange is a fierce place to be for one who was formally a tea-merchant. A butterfly among bulls and bears will be torn apart or crushed, it's so fragile. For somebody who has sold tea his whole life and then to venture into the Stock Exchange, will be "crushed" or "trampled", figuratively.
