Miami's Benihana?

I plan to take my girlfriend out to this restaurant for her birthday. What can i expect from this place? Price? Wait time? Food? Anything that would be helpful would be greatly appreciated.|||There are many Benihana restaurants, in some contries. Benihana is a franchise.

If you don't know how is it, you have to go once. The food is acceptable, but the show is very very funny. More than a restaurant, this is a cirque and the chef is a 'saltinbanco'. If you are looking some romantic place, for your first meeting, dont go yet.

The price is for the food and for the show so it is expensive.

The wait time ? friday or Saturday may be long...

There are some restaurants that are 'like' Benihana, because they copies Benihana.

-------------------------------- -------------------------

"Benihana is always searching for profitable markets to expand in and currently will have several new restaurants opening in 2007. To date, Benihana owns 59 teppanyaki restaurants, 48 of which have sushi bars and franchises 19 others domestically and internationally. California has the most locations with 16 followed by Texas with nine and Florida with seven.

Benihana has been based in Miami, Florida since 1980. Prior to that the headquarters was in New York. Its corporate address is 8685 N.W. 53rd Ter., Miami, FL 33166.

Japanese born Rocky H. Aoki founded Benihana in 1964, with the opening of it first restaurant in Manhattan's Upper West Side at 61 West 56th St. This restaurant soon became famous with its theatrical chefs and traditional Japanese architecture and structural engineering. The interior structure of the restaurant was a 150-year old Japanese barn Rocky's father found in the countryside of Japan. "|||Honestly- I personally think Benihana is overpriced. They do the whole hibachi thing which is kind of fun if you've never seen it before. Basically you order what you want and sit around the grill and the chef chops everything and sets things on fire (purposefully) and does a short little show.

Keep in mind that you'll be sitting at a table with people you don't know, as they put about 6 people at each grill/table. If you're looking for a good Japanese/sushi place, there are plenty in Miami.

If you want the name of a few places, let me know the part of Miami you'll be in and I can provide you with some suggestions.|||http://www.benihana.com/faq.asp|||Totally overpriced, food is not so good. your just paying to have a asian person throw food at you cause it's funny!
