Is Benihana Healthy? (check description)?

i go for dinner it comes with an onion soup, house salad, a couple shrimp, chicken and steak with white sauce, order of fried rice, vegetablesIs Benihana Healthy? (check description)?
I love Benihana, but they add a lot of butter and oil to their dishes. Eat in moderation. Is Benihana Healthy? (check description)?
Benihana.....you know if you go to Tokoyo they're listed in the phone directory as "American Food"?

Find a real japanese place and let them do the habachi or grill for you rather than the chain. You'll see there's a marked difference. Plus yeah...thats a healthy meal as far as I'm concerned. Is Benihana Healthy? (check description)?
Nooo? lmao...steak is sooo fattening and hig with sodium! Is Benihana Healthy? (check description)?
Yes, if you eat it in moderation, it's pretty well balanced. And really yummy!

How much would it be for 2 dinners at benihana?

what is the best thing to order and how much would it be for 2 dinners and maybe 2 or 3 drinks?

is it a nice place to goHow much would it be for 2 dinners at benihana?
Probably about 60-70 bucks, depending on the drinks.

I like Benihana, but there are more and more independent hibachi places opening. I like the combinations, steak and shrimp. How much would it be for 2 dinners at benihana?
if you notice, most national chains don't have prices on their websites

the reason is they vary the price depending on location

some upscale location in NY is going to be more expensive that a smaller town in the south. How much would it be for 2 dinners at benihana?
I love this place...me and my bf go often. I love the shrimp and filet mignon with the whole fried rice the soup and the salad yummy...it runs at about 70-90 depending on the wine and drink choices you get.

Benihana's or Cheesecake Factory for my birthday?

I'm bringing my 2 daughters(5 yrs old %26amp; 5 months old), hubby, parents, %26amp; brother (15yrs old). Thanks in advance peoples!!!Benihana's or Cheesecake Factory for my birthday?
Cheesecake Factory wins my vote!

Happy Birthday! Have a wonderful celebration.....Benihana's or Cheesecake Factory for my birthday?
I am part Japanese and I wouldn't recommend Benihana's for the food. Imo opinion your children are too young to be around a hot grill which is within reach as well as flying utensils. You are also seated with other patrons at the same table who are probably paying to see the show in front of them instead of the show beside them. My recommendation is Cheesecake factory. A lot of choices and a lot of noise. The foods not bad either.
I would like to suggest that if you want to enjoy your own party, you might want to get a sitter at least for the 5 month old. Benihana's is fun to watch but I feel it is overpriced and the food is about average. They do sing a happy birthday type song in Japanese to embarrass you.

My choice of the two is the Cheesecake Factory as the food and the choices are better. Plus, with the noise level in the restaurant, few people would notice a crying baby.

Let me add another place for a birthday party. Romano's Italian Grill. It is a step up from Olive Garden, affordable with white table cloths, plus their happy birthday is done by one of the staff members......in Italian.....as an opera....and done well

I won't sing along...promise.Benihana's or Cheesecake Factory for my birthday?
Bennihanna is funner to watch, especially for kids. It's more expensive, but it will make a much more memorable experience than Cheesecake Factory.
Cheesecake factory because ive never been to Benihanas but i agree,it might be cool to watch, but scary 4 the baby my dad saysBenihana's or Cheesecake Factory for my birthday?
Benihana chef might frighten the baby...

Cheesecake Factory is good...

    Has anyone been to Benihana?

I live in the Atlanta area and my mom would like to go to Benihana for her birthday.

There are three Benihana locations in the Atlanta area and all are within a reasonable driving distance for us.

So, my question is, has anyone been to Benihana recently? Do they do anything special for birthdays? And if you live in Georgia which location would you recommend?Has anyone been to Benihana?
Benihana is a nice place for occasiona. There food isn't all that compared to what they charge, but it's not bad.

They don't do anything special for bdays. They gather a staff to sing happy bday and give a little dessert like most places but nothing special like at Joe's Crab Shack or nothing.

    Is Benihana A Good Restaurant?

I might go to benihana for my birthdya with my family grandpa and sister.Me and my sister have to agree on a restaurant. Is Benihana a good choice. Is Benihana A Good Restaurant?
It is a good choice although the price of the food is a bit higher than normal. That said, the show is something you should experience at least once. Note: be sure to give an extra tip to the chef. zIs Benihana A Good Restaurant?
YES!! definitely!!! i go there for my birthday nearly every year!! not only do you get really good food, you also get some entertainment to enjoy while you dine. if you go there on your birthday (or are celebrating a birthday) you get a piece of pineapple and you get to make a wish on a candle ( i think they also throw in free ice cream, but im not sure)Is Benihana A Good Restaurant?
Benihana is most probably a very good choice. It certainly would help if you would indicate in what city. Are there many other good restaurants in your town?Is Benihana A Good Restaurant?
Great place to go for your birthday. When you are a party of 8-10, you get your own table and chef.

    Lots of fun.
Oh yes! They have a buffet or menu- very good...

Those answers above are too general; it depends on what you order food wise and if you have cocktails/sake; for 2 people with a simple meal of chicken, rice, vegetable hibachi style, figure about $13.00 per person lunch maybe $17.00 dinner with just water; Whenever I've gone with a friend, it would be around $50-60 per person including drinks, appetizer, main coarse, tax and tip.

What is Benihana's like? Is it like the Asian answer to Hooters?

I love Bennihanna's!!!!. It is Tappan Style Japanese/Chinese food. You sit around a huge grill and a chef cooks your food in front of you and does some entertaining tricks like flips shrimp into your mouth, builds a volcano out of onions....and some other cool stuff too. They have the best fried rice I have ever eaten and the other food is great too. Kind of expensive but its been worth it everytime I have gone. What is Benihana's like? Is Benihana's a good Japanese restaurant in Atlanta.?

Im going to Atlanta ( for my birthday) this October 9 and want a good Japanese hibachi restaurant . Is Benihanas good?Is Benihana's a good Japanese restaurant in Atlanta.?
Benihana's is a decent, servicable restaurant generally patronized by people who are not afficienados -- (I doubt I spelled that correctly) of Japanese food. When my daughter was young and I introduced her to hibachi cooking, that was where we went. Now, we generally hit more obscure, non-chain places.

You'll enjoy it. Have fun. (If it wasn't good, the restaurant wouldn't have so many locations, or be in business for so many years!)Is Benihana's a good Japanese restaurant in Atlanta.?
Benihanas is to Japanese food as Red Lobster is to Seafood.

Passable but never the best choice.

Will you get a good meal and have a good time at Benihana? Yes you will. Is it the best in town? I'm no fan of that style of cooking and there may be better options out there. I don't know. But don't go there expecting the best meal you've ever eaten. You'll be disappointed. Go there with a group expecting some fun and some good food and maybe get a shrimp (or two) tossed in your lap. Try the YumYum sauce. Is Benihana's a good Japanese restaurant in Atlanta.?

Ask to sit at one of the tables where the chef cooks right in front of you.

Everything there is good. You get miso soup and salad and then you choose steamed rice or fried rice and what kind of meat/seafood you want.

I think it is a bit on the expensive side. About $20-$30 for the above dinner, plus drinks, dessert, tip, etc.

  • What should I wear to Benihana tonight?

My boyfriend and I are going to dinner tonight at Benihana. I have only been there once about 4 or 5 years ago, and I don't remember if I should dress up or not.

I was thinking either some dark skinny True Religions with black heels and a black ruffle top

    or

a black cocktail dress I wore on New Years with black heels.

which one would be more appropriate? What should I wear to Benihana tonight?
Definitely the skinnies. It's not a huge dress up place, but you should look good. Pair it with a nicer top, though. Its a nice place, so dress nicely without overdoing it

Who has been to Benihana? and is the food good? What do you recommend?

want to take my boyfriend there for his birthday!Who has been to Benihana? and is the food good? What do you recommend?
Food is tasty, not extremely Japanese though. Guys like it a lot because the food is cooked pretty fast right in front of you, there is some knife tricks, and there is lots of food. My nephews all like the turf %26amp; surf--lobster %26amp; steak (and veggies). You can special order fried rice if you don't like plain Japanese rice. If you are old enough and like it, you can order drinks (kind of expensive though), some of which come in these Japanese god mugs. It's ok. It's the show you go for. The food is just ok. Yes it's fresh and cooked in front of you but it's not exciting to eat. The chef preparing the food does put on a good performance. It is a fun thing to do.Who has been to Benihana? and is the food good? What do you recommend?
It's a good place to go to for special occasions with big groups. I recommend getting one of the hibachi specials... the chef will cook, perform tricks (throw egg in the air, knife tricks, etc) right in front of you. It's fun. They have specials where you can get the salad, pick which rice (steamed/fried), and X number of meats. I personally like the steak and shrimp combo. Stay away from the sushi.... it's pretty mediocre.

    4 Cups canned chicken broth

    2 Cups water

    1 white onion

    1/4 cup carrot, coarsely chopped

    1/4 celery stalk, coarsely chopped

    1/2 Teaspoon salt

    1 Cup vegetable oil

    1 Cup milk

    1 Cup all-purpose flour

    6 Medium mushrooms, thinly sliced

    4 green onions, diced

Combine chicken broth and water in a large saucepan over high heat. Slice the white onion in half, then coarsely chop one half. Add chopped onion, carrot, celery and salt to the saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, or until the onions start to become translucent.

As the broth simmers, heat up 1 cup of vegetable oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Slice the remaining white onion into very thin slices.

Separate the slices, dip the slices into the milk, then into the flour. Fry the breaded onions, a handful at a time in the oil until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel.

When the soup has simmered for 10 minutes, strain the vegetables out of the broth and toss them out. Pour the broth back into the pan and keep it hot over low heat.

To serve, ladle about 1 cup of broth into a bowl. Place a few pieces of fried onion into the soup, followed by 6 to 8 mushroom slices and a sprinkle with diced green onion.

Benihana is over-priced for what it is, and merely 'okay.' (It's pretty much targeted for people who aren't too familiar with Japanese cuisine.) There's a $39-for-two hibachi special through 12/30 -- chicken %26amp; shrimp -- which isn't a bad deal.

Until the end of the month Benihana has a Hibachi Chicken and Shrimp for 2 special at $36

A review in the San Jose Mercury states the price range of $15 to $30.

Add a beverage, even non alcoholic soda-pop or tea, and desert you can easily get up to the $40 per person price range. Figure in a tip and it would be best to walk in with a $50 budget. How pricey is benihana's san jose ca?

I don't believe so. I think they wear them as it looks more professional and also they normally toss a tiny piece of food into the top of their hat at the end of their routine. But, judging from how well they cook, I'm sure that they are all quite experienced chefs.Do the chef's hats at Benihana's have any significance in terms of experience?
You mean Benny Ha Ha's! I know a guy who was turned down because he was too good for benny Ha Ha's, but Teppanyaki is an old art of Asian style culinary, and Benihana's is milking it real well. There was never a rank when I worked with Teppan cooks and chefs, The Chef's toque means two things: To see where the chef is in the kitchen, and the lines on a toque mean how many ways he can prepare an egg. There has never been a rank when I worked in any kitchen. instead, look for insignias (like gold tabs or buttons, or a special nametag or uniform)There are only three uniforms in the kitchen these days: White button Down shirt, Dishwasher, prep or bus boy. White double breasted jacket, Sous Chef, Cook or line cook, and a Jacket with no buttons or push through solid globes are executive chefs or kitchen managers

Do people often get food poisoning from eating at Benihana? ?

I'm having a party there but I'm nervous now because a friend told me that she's had friends who have gotten food poisoning from there.Do people often get food poisoning from eating at Benihana? ?
My experience is that their food is high quality and they do cook it hot enough. The only thing that is not cooked of course is the sushi and sashimi (sp). If you are not used to raw fish, some people might get sick or they could have gotten ahold of a bad piece although it is not really that likely. All sushi grade fish is inspected closely several times.

If you are worried, just don't eat the sushi or any raw products.Do people often get food poisoning from eating at Benihana? ?
Never gotten sick on their food. I actually feel better seeing them cook it. Nobody I know has gotten sick either, except for my step sister when she accidental used my fork when I had shrimp because shes allergic to shellfish.

My husband's family has been going here for birthdays for years. It is a long-standing family tradition. The food is excellent and prepared right in front of you which the kids love! The atmosphere is great too. It's not a big place so for us it's much more comfortable.

Very nice place to take friends visiting. It's a show just to watch them prepare your meal. They do it right in front of you from the rice to the main course. Not a restarunt to go alone.

Benihana doesn't have to be pricey. Sometimes you can actually get a discount, if you go to one of our Tix4Tonight stores and ask about Tix4Dinner deals. Different restaurants offer varying discounts...might be 50% off an entree or 25% off the entire bill. Benihana at the Vegas Hilton is one of our many restaurant partners.

There are a ton more teppanyaki restaurants in Vegas--one is at the Wynn, so that won't help you save money. How close do you want to be to The Strip?
Fukuda in Henderson, NV is super good! Less pricey and less crowded! The food was great, the service even better! It's definitely a show while you eat and watch your meal being prepared! Any one know of a restaraunt like benihana but less expensive in the los angeles area?

The type of Japanese restaurant that you're looking for is called "Teppanyaki". From my personal experience, teppanyaki tends to be just a bit more expensive than traditional dining because you have a "chef" at each cook station.

If you find a teppanyaki that is substantially less expensive than Benihana, I would be weary of the quality of the food and the experience of the "chefs". Labor is often the most expensive line item on any restaurants ledger.

I wanna celebrate my bf's birthday next weekend there but I wanted to get one of those tbls with the chef in the middle. How many people can there be in one tbl? Is there one with 18-20 ppl even if its with two chefs? Do all the guests have to be there b4 they seat us? I want it to be a surprise! HELP!Has anyone been to Benihana Restaurant?
I believe the tables can fit 8 to 10 people. They'll have to split you guys up into 2 or 3 tables. If it's just 2 tables, you can usually sit in a giant circle, with two chefs in the middle. You won't be able to talk to more than 5 people in your party at a time because you'll be pretty far apart.

You generally need everyone's order in at the same time per table. If people are late, then try to get their order(s) or shuffle them to another table within the party if possible. The chefs generally work on the everyone's orders at the same time (appetizers, main course, etc).

Any idea on how much to expect?Benihana dinner for 6 (plus a toddler) would cost?
My husband and I eat at Benihana's fairly frequently. Obviously, how much it costs depends on which entree you order. We usually order the more expensive entrees (which come with shrimp, chicken, and filet mignon) ... about $30-$35/each. The two of us usually end up spending about $75.00-$80.00 by the time we walk out. That includes 2 of the more expensive entrees and a couple of alcoholic drinks each. (The dinners include dessert -- so you don't have to pay extra for dessert.)Benihana dinner for 6 (plus a toddler) would cost?

I am on business and there is a favorite restaurant of mine here where people watch the chef cook in front of them, i am just hesitant to go alone. Ive dined alone before, but never at this type of restaurant. Im fairly confident I will be okay if i go for a late lunch, where its not too crowded. what do you think???Would you dine at a benihana type of restaurant alone?
I have gone to Benihana's alone several times and have not had any problems. It is a nice experience practicing striking up a conversation with total strangers. Now for the time, if you have not done this before you might want to stick to a busy time like during dinner. During lunch people are lin a hurry and tend not to talk. Early or late meal you may have a partial table and, I feel that the best way to enjoy this type of restaurant is with a crowd, it just doesn't matter if you knwo these people or not.Would you dine at a benihana type of restaurant alone?

I've been to teppanyaki alone before and its normally a good experience. Because you're sharing a table with others they tend to include you so you don't feel so much like you're dining alone. Similarly, eating at a sushi bar is a good place to try if you're on your own.Would you dine at a benihana type of restaurant alone?

Um, I give it a 5 or 6. The food is ok. The service and displays are great. I don't like that you are rushed. You cannot really enjoy a meal. What I mean by enjoy is have an active conversation, enjoy the presentation, and sip your drink. When I went, we literally sat, listened to corny jokes, ate, and left. That simple. On a scale of 1-10 how do you rate Benihana's restaurant?
An 8. Yes it is super delicious and some what affordable, I just have an ingrained dislike of chains. But even with that, it is some yummy food.On a scale of 1-10 how do you rate Benihana's restaurant?

How to make benihana hibachi vegetables?

Does anyone know how they make the hibachi veggies they serve at Benihana's during lunch? They are already precut - different from dinner. ThanksHow to make benihana hibachi vegetables?
I have never hear of benihana, but there are similar Hibachi restaraunts around me. They usually cut big peices of onion, Broccoli, zucchini, peppers and onion and carrots. While the skillet is hot, add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and/or 2 tablespoons of ginger soy sauce (or grate some ginger into the soy sauce). Add veggies. Saute on high for 3-5 minutes then reduce heat to low for 5 minutes. When you are cooking veggies, make sure pan is covered. Enjoy!!!

I find the home made versions tend to taste a bit more flavorful than what is made at Hibachi chains.

I've never been there before and I plan on going there with a group of friends for my Birthday dinner. Has anyone eaten at the one in SEATTLE before and KNOWS how much it cost!? i blow at least $50 when i go. then again, I'm a hog.

What do you guys think of benihana?

my pastors are sushi lovers and i want to buy them dinner there. i have never been there but have heard good things about them. Is it to pricey? What would you rate it form a 1 star to a 5 star place? thanks! What do you guys think of benihana?
Benihana is just $20-30 for mediocre food (actually, methinks their food was tasteless compared to other teppan restaurants I went to for the same price and I will not go there again) made for the American upper middle mass. If you want to give them something nice, take them to a decent family own Japanese restaurant instead. The food is most likely to be much better. If you're in Riverside, there's restaurant on Mission in downtown near the Clark Nutritional Center like within 2-3 blocks (Went there twice during my college days) that are owned by Koreans. They have an all you can eat sushi bar and you could order at the table (lunch is cheaper). The place is pretty decent. If you're willing to drive out a little, there's a good Japanese buffet called Tokai in the Puente Hill mall (off Azusa exit on the 60 in Rowland Heights). The food is definitely quality compared to Chinese buffet sushi. I think they have couple of other branches too, but that's the one I go to. But if you don't want to drive that far, I would rather take a gamble and go to one of the Japanese restaurants in Victoria Garden than go to Benihana or something in Chino Hill, they have couple of good ones there. What do you guys think of benihana?
Skip it! Try going to a Asian buffet instead. You get a larger selection of food and the sushi is all you can eat.

Benihana is just quick overpriced stirfry to me. I prefer the buffets or the smaller Japanese teriyaki places that have bento boxed deals and a larger selection of sushi. What do you guys think of benihana?
Since you have never been to Benihana, I'm not certain if you are aware of this, but Benihana specializes in Teppan-yaki (grilled food), not sushi.

If your pastors love sushi, take them to a Sushi restaurant. There are tons of Sushi restaurants in and around your area and at all price ranges. A simple search of Sushi restaurants will give you a good list. What do you guys think of benihana?
I would give it 4 stars. It is about $25 per person. But you have to think of it as food and entertainment.
It has a 50% average rating.

my friend is taking me there tomorrow for lunch with her family. it is her birthday. we are 14.

they basically cook meat right there in front of you [ew]

they also have sushi, but I dont eat any type of meat, including fish.

what should I eat?! I dont want to seem rude by not eating.Benihana lunch what should I eat?
I went a few months ago. There is an all-veggie dish on the menu that they cook at the table like they do the meat. I don't see it on the menu that surelynotme posted, but I think it was just called Hibachi Vegetables. I couldn't find it on the online menu when I knew I was going either, so I wasn't very hopeful, but there it was on the menu when I got there. At least when I went, they cook all the veggies first, so the grill is clean. If you don't do dairy, though, be warned that they will slap a big wad of butter on your veggies towards the end of the cooking so be prepared to ask the cook not to (if you're OK with dairy, ignore that part.) My veggies were good and they serve rice with it. The worst part is that you leave the restaurant smelling like meat.Benihana lunch what should I eat?
You can get Veggie Sushi %26amp; they will cook up Veggies(no meat/chicken or shrimp) right there at the table for you. I go with friends all the time %26amp; that is what I get. Just ask for want you need.Benihana lunch what should I eat?
Why not look at their menu? http://www.benihana.com/Benihana lunch what should I eat?
Don't worry about potatoes or salt.

Yes, they will make you veggies. Just ask to have them cooked first with no butter. They'll probably have veg oil or water. Also, I absolutely love vegetarian sushi. It usually is slightly cooked veggies and japanese pickles. Their salads are usually pretty good. Don't eat the soup because they might tell you it is vegetarian but it probably has dashi which is fish stock.

Also, you can order something from the menu like Yakisoba (stir fry noodles) or vegetable tempura.

    Have fun!

Has there ever been a constumer injury incident at Benihana?

y'know... with the whole knife-tossing thing...Has there ever been a constumer injury incident at Benihana?
This week, a jury in Long Island rejected a plaintiff's claim that her husband died as a result of negligence by a shrimp-flinging Benihana chef. Jacqueline Colaitis testified that her husband Jerry hurt his neck while trying to dodge a steaming-hot shrimp that had been hurled at him by the chef. Allegedly, the chef (who was never identified) flung the fatal shrimp after he had already beaned two other family members and had been asked to stop. "Don't you understand?" Mr. Colaitis begged the chef. "We told you to stop." But the chef ignored Colaitis and fired another shrimp at him, while laughing maniacally and waving sharp knives at the family in a threatening manner (NOTE: maniacal-laughter and knife-waving details fabricated by me).According to the plaintiff, Mr. Colaitis wrenched his neck while trying to dodge the shrimp, and developed neck pain as a result. He eventually underwent two spinal surgeries, and later developed a staph infection and died. The plaintiff sought $16 million from Benihana, arguing that the chef had started a chain of events that culminated in the decedent's death. The jury rejected the claim after deliberating for about 20 minutes. One later said that Benihana diners assumed the risk of injury when they went to the restaurant. "I suppose there is an inherent danger in food being tossed," said juror Elizabeth Cardito, "but you know that going in."Benihana's lawyer said the food-tossing was stopped after the lawsuit was filed.

Does anyone have a recipe for the red hot sauce they serve at Benihana?

I'm not exactly sure which sauce you're talking about. But I love Benihana and when we moved I had to figure out how to make my own at home. If you're talking about the dipping sauces you get, these are the recipes I've come up with.

    Mustard Sauce:

    Makes about 2/3 cup

    1/4 cup soy sauce

    1/4 cup water

    2 teaspoons Oriental mustard

    2 teaspoons heavy cream

    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

    Ginger Sauce:

    Makes about 1/2 cup

    1/4 cup chopped onion

    1/4 cup soy sauce

    1 clove garlic, minced

    1/2 ounce ginger root

    2 tablespoon lemon juice

    1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar

    1/4 teaspoon white vinegar

What is Benihana like? How long does a meal typically take there?

Very enjoyable dining experience, probably 30-45 minutes start to finish after you're seated.

What should a man wear to Benihana?

I am going to dinner with my girlfriends parents tonight. I was going to wear nice grey dress slacks and an off white button down shirt.

my girlfriend says that is probably too dressy

is it acceptable to swicht the pants to a nice pair jeans black leather dress shoes, black belt, and the same off white or cream colored button down shirt?|||Excellent choice. Benihana's isn't overly fancy, just nice and fun, button down will make a great impression on the parentals as well as the nice shoes, and the girlfriend (if she's anything like me) should love the jeans with the nice shirt. Dress slacks are indeed too much, but I think you'll look great. Have fun!!!|||Sounds like you've got some good taste! That is an excellent choice and some people walk in there with shorts and a t-shirt on! Although Benihana is a nice reasturant you don't have to dress like you're going to a wedding.|||I guess the question is what is she going to wear? You want to be on a similar level with her. If the parents showed up in coat and tie it still would not matter so long as you two were compatibly dressed. I think you original choice was okay.|||I WOULD GO WITH DRESS SLACKS AND A DRESS SHIRT

However, I've been to benihana a couple times, and really really enjoyed it. They have great food as well as great entertainment. It's a really fun place to go with friends and family, they get everyone involved. I highly recommend Benihana!!|||I personaly like Benihana it has a really good atmosphere. the cooks do their litle show while cooking meals. Its fun you should try it.|||It actually depends on what city you live in as the atmosphere varies greatly although the show is usually pretty much the same. While the Benihanas in Bangkok at the Marriott is rather drab, the location in Las Vegas offers some great animated entertainment along with the show of their chefs.

As far as the food, it is pretty much similar in quality yet Hibachi may be a bit cheaper in some cities.

How many people can fit at a benihana's table? and about how much is it per person?

i'm having a going away party for my friend, but i don't wanna invite like 20 people and there only be 10 people to a table. and i also need to know how much it is per person with one drink, one appetizer and one entree.

thank youuuu!|||Call Benihana and ask them if a party of 20 can be seated at one table. Each Benihana is different in size. The price will depend upon what people order, but you could pre-arrange something with Benihana and agree at a fixed price. For a party of 20 I am sure the Benihana staff will be more than glad to help you. Know that restaurants will often add the tip to the bill, so make sure you find out about that beforehand.

Just be careful it can be a nice show but it is also dangerous if not done right, we did alot in the kitchens I worked in, but the biggest thing is once you have added the alcohol, stand back for it to flame, and take it off the heat before pouring anything on, it can flash, come back into the bottle and cause an explosion, use a measured amount, pour off the flame, tilt the pan or vessel to catch the heat, and stand back until the flame dies out, as by then there is no more alcohol or chance of flashback on you.|||just put oil and brandy when you are cooking, my cook alway do this to do this show to customer

Do you have to sit on the floor at Benihana restaurants?

I want to take my husband for his birthday but he has a spine injury and probably can't sit on the floor.|||Great Choice for a Birthday dinner.I love Benihana ! What should I wear to Benihana tonight?

Tonight is my 25th birthday and my husband is taking me to Benihana. I have never been there and have no clue what the dress is like, can anyone help me out...quickly?|||Well, I've been to the one in Encino and it's pretty laid back.

I mean I see people dressed up, some in jeans... You're best bet would probably be a cute cocktail dress, nothing too fancy or a cute top with black pants....|||A cute Black dress with some purple stilletoes and a Coach bag. Or a high waisted black skirt with a patent-leather belt, some black patent stilletoes with a turquoise blouse, and a Gucci bag!!|||Normally a dressed up office look but since it's your birthday go for a nice dressy look|||Casual is fine. But if you want to go a bit dressy, that is fine as well. z

Does anyone know where I can find a portable benihana stove for sale?

I would like to start a japanese hibachi street vendorship where I would sell chicken, vegetable, beef, and shrimp hibachi bowls at very good prices.|||look on e-bay or google for it

    How are the Benihana resturants?

I wanted to know everything about Benihana. like is it really expensive because i want to take my boyfriend out for his birthday and i thought it would be the perfect place for him. he loves food and japanese culture. if anyone has been there could you please tell me how your experience was.|||Girl I found a pube in mah food and it was six inches long wtf?! I was like damn shaquoia we needs to get the **** out dis place. She was like my sushi's all hot and ****. we left. I left them a nice surprise in the bathroom. My tampon was ripe for the pickin. Oh hells yes.|||I have been to one two times and it was fine. I'm not much into "entertainment dining" but, the experience once or twice can be fun. The prices are reasonable. Eliminate the alcohol (have a drink someplace else before or after) and you can further control the cost.

Remember you will likely be seated at the hibachi with other people and will not be facing one another. I've never been too inclined to the shared dinner with people I do not know. On time, I was with a guest and we were seated with two other couples (who were together) and I felt like they did not want us at the hibachi with them.|||Never been to a Benihana, but the one near me makes me think I never will either.

This is a great website for local restaurants, and here's a search on Japanese food...

    http://foobooz.com/tag/japanese/

Look through there before you pick Benihana.|||I recently went to a party at the plymouth meeting one and it was so much fun!! its delicous food and its entertaining. The waiters and chefs are friendly and the the food was funny. A little pricey but not to bad.|||its fun and nice, but do NOT get their sushi. it was like hard and plastic-y

What is the healthiest thing to order at Benihana?

I dont know what to order there that will be really healthy for me.|||Do they have sushi? (we don't have a benihana, but we do have a similar restaurant which has sushi on the menu.) If so the order sashimie (sp?). If not have the fish or veggies (not the lobster) with out the sauce (too much sugar and salt.) Stick with tea or water to drink instead of a fruity or alcoholic drink.

Have fun!! Good luck!!|||do NOT order fried rice. the amount of sodium, oil, and carbs are outrageous. if you want rice order steamed or better yet, brown rice...more fiber you can order sushi sashimi style (without rice) or ask for it wrapped in cucumber instead of rice. also avoid spicy rolls...those tend to have mayo in

Which Benihana magic mustard sauce recipe Should I use? The one with our without heavy cream?

There are two different mustard sauce recipes out there, the main difference is that one calls for heavy cream, the other does not. Has anyone tried both? Which one is closer to the restaurant's version?|||go the heavy cream so its richer

Does anyone know how many people may be seated at one table in a Benihana Restaurant?

    Benihana's at:

    16403 N. Scottsdale Road

    Scottsdale, AZ 85254

...and if anyone can provide me w/ a round about price for 10 people to dine, that would be most appreciative.|||I actually DID send Benihana's an E-Mail...

    And their response was:

Their tables seat 8 people... 9 at the customer's request. So, If you need 10 people you better call ahead and see if that particular Benihana can do that or not... otherwise, you are going to have people sitting at two different tables...

They also said price range for lunch is 10 to 12 dollars, while for dinner it is 30 to 35 dollars per person plus drink, tax and gratuity...

So... 10 people for dinner could range from 300 to 350 dollars... plus if everyone is adding drinks you could be looking at over 400 dollars or more!!

That's the info I got back from Benihana after sending them an E-Mail...

If their communal tables only seat 8 or 9... I would definitely call ahead of time to see if they can somehow seat 10 people for your party...|||Too many variables...

    Lunch or dinner? Alcohol?

Go to the website and see for yourself.

    http://www.benihana.com/locator.asp

The location you're looking for has a price range. You can seat ten people at a table at nearly all restaurants.

EDIT: In the time it took you to type this you could have called them directly...|||most hibachi tables seat between 8 and 14.. 10 is about average... for dinner i would say $40-50 per person if they don't have drinks or add ons.. minimum $60 per person if they have drinks..

btw, the location near me serves the "lunch menu" 7 days a week.. so that could be a lot cheaper..

Anyone know of any good, cheap hibachi restaurants in Atlanta other than Benihana?

    Kobe's is great !!!|||no

What's the difference between Kobe Steakhouse and Benihana in Austin, TX?

Is one more expensive? More entertaining? Anyone like one better than the other?|||Kobe Steakhouse specializes in Kobe Beef, which is expensive and tasty. Kobe beef is renowned for its flavor, tenderness, and fatty well-marbled texture. Basically the Japanese cows are fed really good feed. If you want the filet mignon, you need to call ahead and it's $60.

They're both pretty good! So it's a great decision for you.|||they're the same.

How much is an average dish at Benihana?

I want to go with my friends for my birthday, but the website doesn't say anything about the price range. From past experiences, how much did you spend? If its 30+, do you know any restaurants that are of the same style but less expensive in the Los Angles area?|||Most meals are in the mid twenties

How much is Benihana for two?

I have a date on Wednesday and have been unable to find prices for it. It's not an issue of price so much as knowing how much to take out. I believe we're both planning on Hibachi (which I know varies from chicken to beef of course) If anyone has a price range that would be very helpful

Cheers!|||Yelp.com claims it is "Spendy" $30-60 per person.

The online Benihana menu doesn't show prices, which is stupid.

If it's not a question of cost, just take out a lot and but the remainder back.

Is the benihana in NYC a good place to eat?

im having a 20th birthday party with 10 of my closest friends in NYC, and i've been trying to decide where to eat.

i was thinking benihana because there food is awesome.. but i was also thinking bubba gump or hard rock cafe.. please give me you opinion! thanks!|||Their food isn't that awesome, servings are small for the price you pay. What you are really paying for is the show which you should definitely see at least once in your lifetime. So you will not be disappointed but you might not be entirely full.

Bubba Gump is very good although a bit overpriced (smaller servings, 8 or 10 shrimp instead of 12). Its a good meal and if you liked the movie Forest Gump, you will like the restaurant.

If the entire group is into rock and roll, definitely go to the Hard Rock Cafe. One note, they always have some celebrity T-shirts in the gift shop where the celebrity often designs and the proceeds goes to their favorite charity. Nice way to get a unique T-shirt that fewer people have. z

Do you have to call and reserve spot at Benihana?

I never went to Benihana without a friend of mine who knows his way around things at that place. He would always have to call Benihana so he can reserve a spot for me and my friends. Do you have call them first to reserve a spot there or you can just walk in?|||I have found that going for an early Lunch, then sometime you can just get a couple of seats. For evening then you would be advised to book. That is for the restaurant in central London.|||i recomend you to just reserve your spot before you walkin..

How to turn my stove into a Benihana table?

hey im wondering if anyone knows how i would go about making my stovestop so that it is 1 flat peice of metal to cook on like at Benihana. i have one of the glass ones. could i get a flat peice of metal fitted over it that would heat up when i turned it on? i have a vent and all that part is covered. anyone know of a site i could look at such things on? i dont want to spend an arm and a leg.|||Just get a 2-burner griddle. Those benihana tables get 5000潞F, and your stove will probably barely reach 500.... but a griddle might help.

Does Benihana ever cook live animals in front of guests?

I really, really doubt this, but I've never been there before, and I remember watching Paris Hilton's reality show (don't judge me, hehe) and they were at a similar type of restaurant and cooked some sea creature while it was still alive. (it was really freaky and sad!)

Anyway, I doubt a place as unauthentic, as well as family oriented as Benihana would do something like that, but I'm just curious.

Thanks for the answers in advance!|||its a chain restaurant so I would agree in its authenticity. And no they dont cook anything that is still alive, and I doubt they even cook anything that fresh.|||Oysters, for one, are cooked or eaten alive. Lobster is cooked alive. Crawfish are cooked alive. It really isn't sad, though. If you respect and revere what you prepare and eat. But Benihana is a chain restaurant and I doubt any respect or reverence there.|||No, it doesn't happen. The last time we were there we shared a table with a young family and not only would cooking live animals freak me out, I'm sure everyone else at the table would have been horrified.|||Not that I'm aware of. Who goes to Benihana anyways?

Does any one know of restaurants in chicago area that is similar to Benihana?

I'm looking for a restaurant that is similar to Benihana but i don't want to go to the suburbs in chicago.|||Sake House and Bar

They do AMAZING Japanese food, including a full sushi bar.

What is the twosauces they serve @benihana when you are @ the hibachi grill?

What is the sauce they serve at benihana when u sit at the hibachi grill one is Ginger what is the other one|||The sauces are Mustard Sauce, and Ginger Sauce.

How much would dinner at Benihana's cost for 5 or 6?

I've never been to Benihana's and I want to go to dinner there with my family for my birthday, and possibly have my boyfriend come too. How much would dinner cost? Nothing extravagent, just a nice filling meal, no alcohol either. Thanks! :)|||Plan on at least $20/person!|||Look at their menu online.

What is your favorite thing to eat from Benihana?

I just went to The Hilton and ate at Benihana for the first time ever. I ordered the Lemon Chicken, it was amazing! I wanna go back soon, and I was just wondering, what is the best thing you've ever had from there?|||steak|||I had some sort of special, which was a Lobster and steak combo. It was really nice. The buttered scallops there are also delicious.

For dessert had some sort of chocolate icecream. That was a bit average, I think I'd choose something else If I ever went again.|||Tempura shrimp

Where can I find a steak in the grocery store to cook like the steak found at Benihana's?

I printed the recipe from benihana's website so that I can cook the hibachi or regular steak, the problem is there are so many different kinds of steak out there I don't know which one to buy. Does anyone have some guidance on this?|||If you have gone to the trouble of visiting their website I find it odd they didn't include the cut of steak in the recipe.

Go back for another look|||the seasoning is the answer not the right kind of steak.|||I think Rib eyes are the best steaks out there for the money.

The most flavor, some fat, and not too expensive. Good for a beginning cook.

What is the name of the type of restaurant like "Benihana" where they cook the food in front of you?

I want to find a restaurant near me (Duluth, MN) that is like Benihana. An asian man cooking the food in front of me and doing tricks with it and such. What is the name for this type of restaurant, or does only the Benihana company do it? The closest Benihana is over 2 hours away.|||I believe the term you are seeking is "Japanese Steak House." There are several individual ones as well as chains like this where they cook the food in front of you, or you can also order traditional food such as sushi. Just look for "Japanese Steak House near Duluth, MN" on the internet, or look in your local phone book. There's got to be one in a place that big. Hope that helps. Good luck.|||You want to go to a restaurant that does "Hibachi". I found the online menu but the prices are, conveniently enough, not there.Does anyone who has been there no an approximate range? And not the minimum cheap dinner, but something in the middle?|||Without alcohol drinks around $80,,,Around $120 with alcohol consumption.

If you get the white rice instead of the dried, you save around $6 per couple.|||For the meal I would expect to spend $50 to $60 for 2 people. If you are having cocktails plan for extra $ for that.|||120 w, tip|||Bring $100 with you ... Maybe more, if you'll be having a few drinks

How does Benihana make their garlic butter?

My local benihana makes garlic butter that has a very distinct taste. I have tried to replicate it many many times without any luck.|||Delicious Garlicy Garlic Butter

    1/2 cup melted butter

    1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

    1 tablespoon lemon juice

    1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce

    2 cloves garlic (mashed)

    salt

    Mix all ingredients well.

You can divide this into individual servings, or just leave it in one dish. For a more robust garlic flavor, melt the butter with the crushed garlic in it.
