Any one know of a restaraunt like benihana but less expensive in the los angeles area?

The type of Japanese restaurant that you're looking for is called "Teppanyaki". From my personal experience, teppanyaki tends to be just a bit more expensive than traditional dining because you have a "chef" at each cook station.

If you find a teppanyaki that is substantially less expensive than Benihana, I would be weary of the quality of the food and the experience of the "chefs". Labor is often the most expensive line item on any restaurants ledger.

You might check for listings in the Japantown area. Just a sidenote, Los Angeles, San Jose and San Francisco are the only cities in California with a thriving Japantown. Patronizing businesses there will help support their communities.Any one know of a restaraunt like benihana but less expensive in the los angeles area?
